Devoted especially as a graphic artist, although he also created and exhibited Barbizon style painting, Constantin Jiquidi (1865-1899), the father of the artist Aurel Jiquidi, was appreciated in the era for his critical spirit and the quality of his graphics, who recommended him as a collaborator of IL Caragiale in "Moftul român", and as one of the first authors of cartoons in Romania, in "Friend of the children" (1893).
In the present graphic, the figure represented is a man in a frock coat, with an expressive, almost combative portrait and posture, suggesting, in a nervous hatch of fine lines, an intellectual or political type of the late 19th century.
A design that can be at home in any interior with classic notes, as well as an inspired contrasting accent in a space with a contemporary design. It can also be a prized piece for any old art lover or collector.
