Mihai Sarbulescu – contemporary painting with roots in tradition and spirit

Mihai Sarbulescu (b. 1957, Bucharest) is a contemporary Romanian painter recognized for his deeply spiritual style and for his constant connection with the values of the Christian tradition and the Romanian school of painting. A founding member of the Prolog group, alongside artists such as Horea Pastina and Constantin Flondor, Mihai Sarbulescu proposes an interiorizing, contemplative and symbolic painting.

Trained since childhood in the workshops of painters such as Virgil Neagu and Liviu Lazarescu, and influenced by the study of Hebrew and biblical texts under the guidance of the poet Ioan Alexandru, the artist builds a pictorial language that capitalizes on the sacred and simplicity of forms.
